Chopard Red Carpet Titanium Butterfly Ring and Brooch

The ring, in titanium and white gold, features a 3.72ct briolette-cut tourmaline set with 5.14ct pink and yellow sapphires and diamonds; the brooch, in titanium, features a 2.89ct briolette-cut emerald set with 7.57ct topaz and 1.24ct tourmalines and diamonds.

For the 2023 Red Carpet High Jewellery collection, Chopard presents this “Butterfly” theme, inspired by the art of painting, in which titanium electroplating is used to create the butterfly’s wings in a brilliant gradation of colors, together with magnificent colored gemstones set in a colorful painting full of tension.

Caroline Scheufele, the brand’s Artistic Director, uses titanium to create a smooth and romantic butterfly shape. This special material is plated to reveal a rich and magnificent color effect – one butterfly’s wings show a fascinating transition from purplish-pink to bright yellow, while the other butterfly shows a gradation of blue-green color, giving the work an electric and neon color charm. The other butterfly has a blue-green gradient, giving the piece an electric, neon-like color appeal.

The Artistic Director chose the right colored gemstones for each butterfly – the ‘Yellow-Purple’ butterfly ring features curved faceted yellow and pink sapphires on the wings of the butterfly, revealing a three-dimensional and translucent sense of light, with a 3.72ct teardrop shaped tourmaline and three pink sapphires forming the butterfly’s body in the center, and curved faceted tourmalines set at the end of the butterfly’s wings as an echo of this. The butterfly’s wings are set with curved faceted tourmalines as an echo.

“The ‘blue-green’ butterfly brooch is dominated by a 2.89ct teardrop-cut emerald, a bright, translucent green color that infuses the butterfly’s body with vitality; the wings are set with green tourmalines and blue topazes totaling more than 7ct in weight, and set with round diamonds to create a glittering sparkle.
