Messika Launches Midnight Sun Fine Jewelry Collection: 70’s Rapture
French jeweler Messika has just launched its 2023 fine jewelry collection, Midnight Sun, inspired by iconic musicians and artists of the 1970s, such as Freddie Mercury and Andy Warhol, with a special focus on large, sparkling yellow diamonds to express the boldness and energy of the era. The theme of “Ultimate Party” is inspired by Freddie Mercury, Andy Warhol and other iconic artists of the 1970s.
The “Ultimate Party” theme pays homage to the free-spirited attitude of women in the 1970s – most notably a white gold necklace, handcrafted from a single piece of white gold foil, with a softly flowing silhouette that hugs the neckline. The white gold has been mirror-polished to create a shimmering effect, which is set off by a 20.04ct teardrop-shaped yellow diamond and a 9.07ct cushion-shaped colorless diamond at the center.
The “Glitter Fever” theme pays homage to the glitz and glamour of party dressing – in this collection of magnificent yellow diamonds, you can see a necklace with trapezoidal links in white gold and snow-set diamonds that create a bright sparkle against the 15 cushion-cut yellow diamonds at the center of the links, ranging in weight from 2ct to 15ct. The 15 cushion-cut yellow diamonds at the center of the chain, ranging in weight from 2ct to 15ct, recreate the glamorous atmosphere of a wild night out.
The “Fiery” theme pays homage to the fearlessness and assertiveness of the 70’s – a necklace in white gold with a flaming silhouette in graduated sizes, with a central “pendant” of briolette cut diamonds as the center of attention, and with a flickering flame that burns like the light of a fire.
The theme of “Messika Dancing Moon” is inspired by the disco party that takes place from late night to dawn – the collection continues to be dominated by the simplicity of diamonds set in white gold, with oval rings of diamonds and oval cut master diamonds to create a halo of light. A hinged necklace with open ends is adorned with diamond halos of different sizes, creating a subtle asymmetrical balance.
The “Joy Coeur” theme uses heart-cut diamonds as the main stone to highlight the pursuit of joy and the love of life in the 70s – the most magnificent is a Toi & Moi ring with a 16.18ct heart-cut yellow diamond and a 7.06ct heart-cut pink diamond, creating a subtle clash of colors. 2 colored diamonds are arranged in a subtle pattern. The two colored diamonds are delicately arranged to create a subtle clash of colors, as if they were suspended between the fingers.
